Andreas was elected in the Fall of 2018 as Director for the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD), Area D (Roberts Creek). He is one of nine Directors on the Board. The Board consists of Leonard Lee (Area A); Lori Pratt (Area B); Darnelda Siegers (Mayor, District of Sechelt); Alton Toth (Councillor, District of Sechelt); Warren Paull (Chief, Sechelt First Nation); Andreas Tize (Area D); Donna McMahon (Area E); Bill Beamish (Mayor, Gibsons); And Mark Hiltz (Area F). Together we provide governance to the SCRD CAO and Staff.

Honesty and Integrity
Andreas has a lot of experience in many fields. He spent 10 years as a tourism professional tour guiding and later on co-managing a tour company in Vancouver, BC. Among other things, he negotiated the contract to be the largest domestic supplier of transportation for the Olympic Winter Games.
He has also spent time instructing Tourism Courses at University and College, including cross-cultural tourism, tourism operations, tourism policy and planning and others. Andreas has a Bachelor's Degree in Tourism from Capilano University and a Masters in Resource and Environmental Management (Planning) from Simon Fraser University. His Masters Thesis researched the implications of the 2010 Winter Games on the governance of the Squamish and Lil'wat Nations, and how that has changed their relationship to other governments, especially the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
He enjoys skiing, white water rafting, paragliding and generally being active. He was a volunteer firefighter in Roberts Creek until his election and coaches Crossfit classes in Gibsons part-time.
